The Shelter of God's Promises
Gifted Bible teacher and inspiring Women of Faith speaker Sheila Walsh offers powerful, heart-filled teaching on ten bedrock promises of God, providing the foundation for daily confidence, joy, and hope. Sheila searches Scripture for what God has promised us, what God's promises mean, and how encounters with Christ are the eternal fulfillment of His unrelenting commitment to us.
Do you ever skip over 'Forwards'? Well, whatever you do, don't skip over this one. Sheila tells about a backpacking trip she and her 3 friends took when they were 18 yrs old. What amazed me was the maturity Sheila already had at this age because she shared that at night, when she was alone in her single person tent, she read Psalm 121. Psalm 121! Would I have done that at her age? Rather than depress me, it gave me motivation to continue to teach the Bible to the children God gives me on a weekly Wednesday night basis. How I want them to have that desire.....to read God's Word.
I know that is kind of off subject but it has just resonated with me throughout the book. Yes, Sheila goes on to share her life experiences and entertwines them with scripture and God's promises. The book is refreshing and encouraging to read. And so applicable....to review God's promises to me! This book is also great to use for a Bible study.
