Empty Promises by Pete Wilson

Pete Wilson catches your attention immediately when the cover says "Empty Promises: The Truth About You, Your Desires, and the Lies You're Believing." In the first chapter he talks about his 13,790 gifts and quickly writes that he is referring to the days of life he has been given to date. His description of how we feel when we cheer for the underdog (anyone a Survivor fan), how we don't like being told what to do (anybody!!), and how we are captivated by seeing Venus and Jupitor in the night sky. That so rings true for me. He explains how we are wired for worship, how we go through waiting rooms of life, and he adds stories about others and his own family that so describes what he is saying to us that I just felt very involved in the book. It is a good and easy read.....one that flows from one chapter to the next. Maybe there aren't deep profound truths in the book that we haven't read before. But maybe it's just a good thing to be reminded. From someone else's perspective. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
