The Harvest of Grace by Cindy Woodsmall

I did not realize this was the 3rd book in the Ada's House Series. But when I started reading I was immediately caught up in the story of Sylvia and her determined desire to work her father's dairy farm. Enter Elam, her boyfriend, who wants to make decisions about her father's farm without asking her. And then he asks her to marry her but she isn't so sure. Mainly because she doesn't know if she really loves him and secondly, what if he keeps making decisions on the farm without her input. Ends up that she waits to long to give him her decision. And finds out that he has decided to marry someone else, which is a complete shock to her! But I'm not one to read and tell so you are going to have to read the book to find out who the woman is.

But I will say that Elam's decision makes it very very awkward for Sylvia to stay on the farm. So she answers an older couple's ad for a dairy farm worker and moves away. Which results in complete separation for her own family because of the ways of Amish life. Enter the older couple's estranged son who has come back to persuade his parents to sell and move to town and this book just keeps getting better and better.

This was my first book to read by Cindy Woodsmall and I loved it. It held my interest till the end and my only regret was that I didn't read the other two novels in the series first as I entered into the middle of two other 'stories' in the book. But Cindy gave you enough pieces to put the puzzle together. I have to also add that some of the Amish novels out there don't really hold their attention for me. But this one did not disappoint at all!!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. I was not required to write a positive review and therefore, the book review is 100% my own opinion.
